I have been a fan of KRIT for a long time. He brings hope back to Atlanta hip hop music while most of the quota has been saturated by rappers with great networking skills but not so great lyrics. I have had the pleasure to see him live at a show and actually got the chance to listen to this new cut from him off of his album “Cadillactica”
KRIT simply just asks “What has happened to us?” in his new track called “Soul Food” featuring R&B/Soul legend Raphael Saadiq. He ensures that we need to progress on with the future but remember the morals that the past taught us. He makes metaphors and similes come to life by referring to a sunday soul food dinner; talking about collard greens, cornbread etc. KRIT needs more love in the game, but he does stay true to himself which does compromise his chances of going commercial. He is still one of the strongest underground/independent artists we have in the game and he will still continue to drop bangers that can size up 25 radio commercial songs.
When you have the chance, give “Cadillactica” a listen as well as prior albums from BIG KRIT such as “4eva N a Day” and “Krit Wuz Here”
