"Born in 1989 in Springfield, Illinois, Montrey Slayton is nothing short of great when it comes to singing and composing music. Being born into a family of singers, it was inevitable that Montrey wanted to become a singer at an early age. Even at a young age, Montrey admired the artist that his mother played around the house such as Prince, Anita Baker, and Luther Vandross just to name a few. Capturing the creativity and soul of those artist is what made him want to be known in every household. Years Later his family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the rest is history. After graduating from Messmer High School in 2008, Montrey decided to pursue his career as a singer/songwriter. He has performed at many venues throughout the state of Wisconsin and in Chicago, Illinois. He even captured the attention of judges for the hit television show "The Voice", beating out thousands of other vocalists. In 2012, Montrey released his first album "Love At First Sight" which has received many great reviews. Influenced by Usher, Chris Brown and Jason Derulo, Montrey is definitely on the verge of becoming the next big star."
