I enjoy remixes that make the DJ work out of his/her’s comfort zone and to try a totally different vibe opposing the original track. The goal of a remix is to make it sound different yet stellar from the original track, if it sounds virtually the same like the original...then it is not a remix.
Lana Del Rey’s track “Brooklyn Baby” was remixed by French DJ, Monsieur Adi. Usually Adi is working alongside Lana Del Rey tracks on a consistent basis, but this one stood out the most to me. Adi has remixed tracks from Beyonce, Bastille and the Kooks too. Every time he flips something, it gets the attention it deserves. “Brooklyn Baby”’s remix sounds more powerpop and gives the vibe of the 80s but it is still 2014 at the same time. When you listen to this remix, it does sound like you are in Brooklyn amongst the newly inhabitant hipsters and are about to go to a rave and turn up for the night. “Brooklyn Baby” comes from Lana Del Rey’s album “Ultraviolence”. Keep it locked for more Monsieur Adi remixes.
